An Open Chat with Sanchit, Category Manager on Sharing Catalogs on WhatsApp

We decided to make the most of our coffee break at work. So, with a hot cup of coffee and some steaming samosas, we sat down with Sanchit Kumar, our experienced category manager at Wemore.

We decided to ask him his expert opinion on the potential of sharing product catalogues on WhatsApp. And, this is what he had to say.

1. No matter where they find customers, resellers like to bring it to WhatsApp! What is your take on that?

"Well, what I would say is that WhatsApp has a wider usability and audience base when compared to other social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram. It is because the app is very easy and convenient to use, WhatsApp has become a go-to place for most of them. According to survey done in 2019 on average, 1 million people register on WhatsApp every day and it is quite a huge number and you don't find that in any other social media platforms. This is more than enough to talk about the growing popularity and usability of WhatsApp."

2. Why would you suggest WhatsApp for reselling?

"The thing that always fascinates and excites me about WhatsApp is that it is the most user-friendly app and you can directly communicate with your customers without getting distracted from social feeds or paid advertisements. Considering all these, I think WhatsApp is the convenient platform for reselling."

3. When it comes to WhatsApp, what should resellers always do?

"This is something I always stress on when I am talking to resellers. Group your customers, don't mix them up. Grouping helps you share the right product with the right customers. You just can't share home appliances to college students because that's so irrelevant to them. When you share irrelevant products with your customers and flood their inbox, they are more likely to leave the group. We don't do that. Do we? So why not group according to age, gender and preferences and share accordingly. Trust me, this way you maintain a long-term relationship with your customers."

4. Why is it important to use WhatsApp for business?

I think above statements summarize why WhatsApp should be your go-to app. It is user-friendly; has a wider audience; helps you communicate quickly to your customers directly and yeah of course, it is a reliable app.

We are sure that our Category Manager’s tips should definitely be helpful for you when you are sharing products on WhatsApp next time. #HappyReselling #ResellMore.
